Updates for March 2025

Already into March and the CNRNC team has uploaded more content. The entire serial of Numismatica Canada up to 2021 is available with the kind permission of the current editor, Lorne Barnes, and support of the authors, as well as the Canadian Numismatic Research Society (CNRS) and the Canadian Association of Token Collectors (CATC), under whose banners Numismatica Canada is published.

The long-awaited and much anticipated British Columbia Database from authors Ron Greene, Eric Jensen and David Byard is now available. It’s a large document of over 1,100 pages consisting of a comprehensive listing of BC tokens, checks, tickets and exonumia. Reading through the historical background of the project, the database is decades of work with 6,452 entries as of the publication of this edition. Thanks to the authors for providing a copy to the CNRNC website.

The webmaster has also uploaded a compilation of statutes on banking, currency and finance for the Province of Canada (1840–1866) in both English and French. You can find those under the Government of Canada tab in the Government Documents section.

The Canadian Numismatics Resources website has now over 1,200 document and more than 50,000 pages of scanned content. Although there is still considerable material in the pipeline, we are always looking for more content to add the the CNR website. If you have anything to contribute, use our convenient submission form. Thanks to all our contributor who help us by providing content either to fill gaps or to improve quality.
